What's the best Mint alternative if I just want to see what I spent?

Steven Zhang · October 17, 2026

Short answer: Mint shut down after March 23, 2024, and Intuit pointed users to Credit Karma, which is free but does not have Mint-style budgets. If you used Mint for budgets, look at Monarch, Copilot, YNAB, or Simplifi. If you only opened Mint to see how much you'd spent, Big Numbers shows that on iPhone: today, this week, and this month.

What happened to Mint

Mint went away after March 23, 2024. Credit Karma's help center says migration from Mint to Credit Karma stopped being an option on May 3, 2024. Credit Karma says it "does not currently provide budgeting features the same way that Mint has." It does show the current month's spending by category and how it compares with last month.

Who should choose a full budgeting app

  • You used Mint's budgets and want them back.
  • You want reports, goals, or net worth.
  • You want Android or a web app.

See our comparisons with Monarch Money, Copilot Money, YNAB, and Quicken Simplifi.

Who should choose Credit Karma

  • You want something free from the same company that made Mint.
  • You care about credit scores as much as spending.
  • A monthly category view is enough.

Who should choose Big Numbers

  • You mostly opened Mint to see your spending total.
  • You want that total daily and weekly, not just monthly.
  • You want it on your iPhone Home Screen or Lock Screen.
  • You don't want to rebuild categories and budgets.

Big Numbers is a free download on the App Store, with an in-app subscription of $0.99/week. A separate read-only Grok connector is billed on its own Subscribe plans.
